                        Crossroads in Literary Francophone Studies

 

Welcome

The C-RICEFM is an independent, non-profit international network on interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary Francophone studies in literature. Its main objective is foster scholarly exchange, knowledge dissemination, and research in the field of Francophone Literatures focussing on crossroads in literary studies. It functions and promotes a hub and spokes network design, enabling communication among research clusters at various universities and research institutes. The C-RICEFM's hub is housed at York University. The network encourages inter and multidisciplinary approaches of the subject matter by both seasoned researchers and young scholars, and encourages their collaboration in mentoring and student participation. It works with academics, writers, and those who are interested in preserving and expanding the Francophone culture in its local, national, and international diversity.

 

Below are some of our objectives:

 

 

 

 

Functioning as an active research group in terms of:

  • promoting publication of books and other scholarly and creative material
  • organizing conferences and workshops on selected topics,
  • promoting a hub and spoke network design enabling research clusters at various universities and research institutes to link to the academic enterprise that will emerge from it,
  • financially supporting a scholarly journal,
  • soliciting and distributing funds for research projects,
  • creating a public internet forum,
  • facilitating communication among researchers
  • facilitating the mentoring of research
  • educating members about research and funding opportunities, as well as colloquia, meetings, and workshops
  • creating an international bank of researchers in the various research sectors and sub-sectors
  • initiating start-up ideas and projects to encourage research collaboration among members
  • creating a bibliography of references, journals where one can publish, granting agencies, etc.
